GOTIME™ - founded by two childhood friends and longtime competitive athletes - prides itself on its diverse curriculum and superior staffing.

Ricky Spritz
Co-Owner and Head Martial Arts Instructor
A Chicago native, Spritz grew up training in gyms and dojos, studying under some of the city's finest senseis. Throughout his years of martial arts training, Spritz benefited from lessons you can't learn from your neighborhood playground - self-defense, physical discipline, self-confidence, character development and social awareness.

A competitive black belt for 10 years, Spritz's accomplishments are unparalleled - yet his dedication to the sport is for its broad physical and social development for children of all ages. As a certified national coach, Spritz demonstrates his development practices through group and private class instructions for students of every age, experience and athletic ability.

The philosophy on which GOTIME's™ curriculum and staffing is built is using martial arts as a tool to navigate everyday life. This approach ensures personal and physical enhancement through formal instruction for athletes of all ages and athletic goals.

At GOTIME™, Spritz instructs private, small group and large group training sessions along with KIDSAFE and women's self-defense programs. His classes range in age and athletic ability -- from private enrichment sessions for individuals with special needs to intensive enhancement classes for some of the city's most elite athletes.

Chad Robbins
Co-Owner
Co-owner Chad Robbins grew up in the very same gyms and dojos as Ricky Spritz. Fast friends and oft-times competitors, the two shared a pinnacle moment winning two medals for the United States – one silver, one bronze – at the 1997 Maccabiah Games.

Ever a boxing fan, Robbins forayed into the arena, training for a fight at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO his senior year of college. The win was exhilarating and solidified his love affair for the sport and the disciplined training schedule it required.

Returning to Chicago, Robbins met Ray Pace, a Chicago Park District dynamo that trained him to win his most recent fight in September, ’05 at the Park West Theatre. Pace now shares his customized boxing programs with participants of all ages and athletic abilities at GOTIME.

Robbins champions the application of martial arts and boxing practices to advance athletes of varying experience toward their goals. In opening GOTIME™ with Ricky Spritz, they set the stage for such specialized development in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Ray Pace
Head Boxing Trainer
Growing up on Chicago’s west side, Ray Pace had his first taste of boxing as a high-school freshman. The class – offered as part of his curriculum – met every day and ignited his boxing career.

An amateur champion in several Chicago Park District and CYO Tournaments, Pace was voted ‘Most Exciting Fighter’ in the Chicago City Championships in 1976. So exciting, in fact, Hollywood took note and cast him as a fighter in the hit TV show, “The Untouchables” years later.

Pace fought competitively for 6 years before trading in his spot in the ring to be a trainer. Now he trains children, teens, men and women of all ages and athletic abilities to meet their personal athletic goals through the sport he loves.

Pace will lead GOTIME's™ small-group boxing classes and offer private personal training.
